Michail Risvas
Michail Risvas is assistant professor at IE University Law School, specialising in public international law, international arbitration and WTO law. From 2014 until 2018 Professor Risvas practised with an international law firm in Paris, acting as counsel in investment and commercial arbitrations under the ICSID, UNCITRAL, LCIA, and ICC rules in the banking, defence, gaming, mining and metallurgy sectors. He is included in the list of arbitrators of Court of Arbitration for Art (CAfA) of the Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI) and the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration of the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (OHADA). Professor Risvas has taught at different universities in Europe and Latin America, and has published on international economic law, the law of the sea, cultural heritage, and terrorism. Professor Risvas holds a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Athens and a doctorate and two master’s degrees in international law from the University of Oxford.
