This volume contains lectures by Rüdiger Wolfrum, Professor Emeritus and former Judge of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, delivered as part of the 2021 Summer School on Public International Law. The lectures on general course are devoted to the international normative order. The lectures analyse the legal nature of international norms, their legal force, the role of treaty and customary law, and key principles shaping international law. They also explore developments in international legal regimes, including human rights protection, environmental law, and dispute settlement in the interests of the international community.
