Valeria Butyrina
As part of her expert work, Valeria participates in research on investment law and international commercial and investment arbitration.
Previously, Valeria worked for a major Russian law firm and acted as a representative in state courts.
She is fluent in Russian and English, basic level of German.

Valeria graduated from the Faculty of Law of the National Research University Higher School of Economics and the Master's program “Law of International Trade, Finance and Economic Integration” of the National Research University Higher School of Economics. She also studied as an exchange student at the University of Helsinki in the International Law program.
In addition to her work at the Center, Valeria is Deputy Director General of the Russian Arbitration Center (RAC). Valeria is engaged in research work, including on issues considered by UNCITRAL, participates in the development of various RAC arbitration rules, and organizes educational projects on alternative dispute settlement.
