Counsel of Italy in several international disputes before the International Court of Justice, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, the Arbitral Tribunal, the Court of Justice of the European Union and the European Court of Human Rights.

Consultant, as a legal expert, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Legal Service from 1994 until 2020, participating as a member of the Italian delegation in various bodies and committees of the United Nations, the Council of Europe and the European Union and in various multilateral and bilateral negotiations.

Member of several scientific associations and of scientific committees of journals and series on international law and European Union law.

Editor of two scientific series on respectively international law and European Union law and International Humanitarian law.

Author of several volumes and around eighty articles (in Italian, English and French) on international law, international law of the sea, international protection of human rights, international humanitarian law. She is the editor of eleven volumes, some also in English.
