The ICLRC was admitted as the UNFCCC observer
On November 6, 2022, during the Ceremonial opening of the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP 27) in Sharm el-Sheikh, the International and Comparative Law Research Center was admitted as observer at sessions of the COP.
163 Non-governmental organizations, including the ICLRC, and 9 Intergovernmental organizations were admitted as observers, along with 57 African Non-governmental organizations admitted for COP 27 only, according to Agenda item 2 (e).
The ICLRC has become a part of the Research and Independent Non-Governmental Organizations (RINGO) constituency to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the second largest constituency, comprising 25% of the 2000 admitted NGOs.
We highly appreciate our new status and are eager to further contribute in the UNFCCC agenda by research and analysis.
