The ICLRC held a regular Climate Club meeting
On May 26, in St. Petersburg, a closed meeting of the Climate Club chaired by Ruslan Edelgeriev, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on Climate Issues, was held.
The meeting was devoted to the discussion of international informal climate partnerships, associations of states, companies, and public organizations in certain areas of the climate agenda outside the framework of international organizations or established club formats.
The participants stressed the importance of developing and participating in such coalitions — in particular, to defend principled positions on technological neutrality, the global nature of climate finance, the exemption of low-carbon technologies from sanctions, ensuring access to the infrastructure of voluntary carbon markets, recognition of the efforts of Russian companies to reduce emissions, etc.
