The signed books on international environmental law in the Library
During the Summer School “Climate Change: Science, Law, Practice” Professor Benoit Mayer and the Summer School's attendee Anna Kotlova, PhD in Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Public Law at MGIMO MFA of Russia, signed copies of their books for our library.
You can get acquainted with the monographs International Law Obligations on Climate Change Mitigation, The International Law on Climate Change, French International Legal Doctrine on the Status of the Arctic starting from August 21, when the Center's library will return to its usual schedule. Professor Benoît Mayer is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK LAW). He is also associated with McGill University’s Hans & Tamar Oppenheimer Chair in Public International Law, the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law (CISDL), the National University of Singapore’s Asia-Pacific Centre for Environmental Law, Wuhan University’s Research Institute in Environmental Law, and the Earth System Governance project.
Professor Mayer holds degrees from the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, McGill University, and the National University of Singapore. He has worked as an Associate Professor at the University of Wuhan from 2015 to 2016.
His research explores various aspects of international and comparative climate law. After a PhD thesis on the concept of climate migration, Prof. Mayer has increasingly focused on the interpretation of States’ obligations on climate change mitigation arising from climate treaties, customary international law, and human rights treaties. His research has been published in periodicals such as the American Journal of International Law, the European Journal of International Law, and International and Comparative Law Quarterly, and in monographs published with Cambridge and Oxford University Press.
