Bob Kieffer
Bob Kieffer is the Director of the Treasury of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg and Coordinator General of the Luxembourg Ministry of Finance since July 2019.
Following secondary school studies in Luxembourg (classical economics section), Bob pursued studies in law at the University of Strasbourg (France), where he was awarded a Master’s degree in private law in 2001 and a DEA (post-graduate diploma of advanced studies) in international law in 2002. He completed his education with a PhD in international public law in 2006 and a Harvard Kennedy School Senior Executive Fellows program in 2018.
He is fluent in Luxembourgish, French, German and English.
Bob joined the Ministry of Finance in 2014, as advisor to the Minister, in charge of the Ministry’s public relations and communication strategy. He also coordinated the cooperation with Luxembourg for Finance (LFF), the agency for the development of the Luxembourg financial center. In 2017, he was appointed Premier Conseiller de Gouvernement and Coordinator General of the Ministry.
Prior to his assignment at the Ministry, Bob has worked for a major international banking group, in the legal and business development departments (from 2006 to 2014).
From 2002 to 2005, he was an assistant lecturer at the Institute for Political Studies (SciencesPo), as well as a researcher at the Centre for International and European Studies in Strasbourg.
Since 2008, he is an associate lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the University of Luxembourg. He is the author of a number of publications relating to international trade, tax and banking law.
