Boris Erg is Director of the IUCN Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (IUCN ECARO). He is a trained expert in environmental management with core expertise in nature policy, protected and conserved areas, and nature-based solutions. Boris has 25 years of professional experience of which most in an international setting. Throughout his career, he has cooperated with numerous international organizations, UN agencies, national authorities, NGOs, research organisations, businesses and financial institutions. He is an active member of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas where he serves on the Executive Committee of the Transboundary Conservation Specialist Group. Boris has continuously promoted the concepts of fair and equitable governance of natural resource as a response to growing societal and environmental challenges.
