Decisive Moments of Climate Diplomacy: Decarbonizing Strategy for Net-Zero Future (in Russian)
The ICLRC presents the Russian edition of Korean diplomat Rae Kwon Chung’s book Decisive Moments of Climate Diplomacy.
Drawing on several decades of direct involvement in international climate negotiations, the author recounts the development of the global climate regime, the tensions between developed and developing countries, and efforts to forge compromises at pivotal moments in the negotiations.
Rae Kwon Chung was the Republic of Korea’s first Ambassador for Climate Change and served as Principal Adviser to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Climate Change and as Director of the Environment and Development Division of UN ESCAP. Much of his career has focused on advancing the concept of “green growth” — an approach that sees climate action not only as a response to an environmental crisis, but also as an opportunity for economic development.
The book is intended for a broad readership interested in international relations, climate policy, and environmental diplomacy.
