Anna was born in Moscow in 1973. In 1990 she was admitted to the Department of Biology and Chemistry in the Moscow State Pedagogical University named after V.I. Lenin. In 1995 she graduated summa cum laude from the university and entered full-time graduate school in the Institute of Global Climate and Ecology of Roshydromet and Russian Academy of Sciences. In 2000 she defended her candidate's dissertation majoring in “Ecology” (biological sciences): “Anthropogenic Nitrous Oxide Emissions from Agricultural Land in Russia”. Since 2000 she has been working in the Institute of Global Climate and Ecology of Roshydromet and Russian Academy of Sciences as Leading Engineer, Researcher, Leading Researcher, Head of the Laboratory, Head of the Department “Monitoring of Greenhouse Gas Fluxes in Natural and Anthropogenic-Disturbed Ecosystems”. In 2006 Anna was awarded the academic title of senior researcher. Since 2015 she has been Deputy Director for Research in Yu.A. Izrael Institute of Global Climate and Ecology. In 2008 she defended her dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Biology: “Fundamentals of Monitoring Anthropogenic Emissions and Sinks of Greenhouse Gases (СО2, CH4, N2O) in Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Land Use and Land Use Change in Russia”. Since 2012 she has been a corresponding member of the Russian Ecological Academy. In 2016 Anna was elected corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences majoring in “Geography”. Since 2017 she serves as Director of the Institute.
