Ekaterina Salugina-Sorokovaya took part in ECUMENE 2022
Delivering a presentation at the session “Sustainable Reporting in Russia”, Ekaterina spoke about latest improvements and actors, as well as global trends in the disclosure of non-financial information.
She told about the features of the voluntary principles for Chinese companies on disclosing environmental, social, and governance indicators which came into force on June 1, 2022, the role of governments and stock exchanges in implementing ESG disclosure requirements, the trend toward unification of non-financial reporting standards, and some projects of “universal” standards.
“Major requirements to disclose ESG information are provided not by governments, but by stock exchanges, for the listed companies. <…> Nowadays, there is a trend of increase in the number of states implementing such requirements. Another trend is a pursuit for unification of non-financial reporting standards,” mentioned Ekaterina Salugina-Sorokovaya.
