Announcement of the Results of the XII Competition for the International Law in the XXI Century Award
On 30 June 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the ICLRC Library will host the ceremony announcing the results of the competition for the International Law in the XXI Century Award for the best paper on public international law.
The winner of the XII competition, Roman Abrashin, will present the main findings of his paper, “International Human Rights Bodies’ Efforts to Address Climate Change: Are There Limits to the ‘Green’ Interpretation of International Human Rights Treaties?”. Commemorative prizes will also be awarded to the authors of the highly commended papers:
- Alexander Osokin — for his paper ”Immunity of Central Bank Assets and Unilateral Restrictive Measures”
- Nayana Gazina — for her paper “From Interpretation to Standard-Setting: Subsidiary Means for the Determination of Rules of International Law in the Field of Biomedicine”
- Kirill Serebryakov — for his paper “The Evolution of the Functional Legal Personality of Multilateral Development Banks: From Financial Institutions to Global Agents of Norm-Making”
Registration is required.
The awards ceremony will be preceded by a round table on the teaching of international environmental law. The round table is intended to serve as a platform for professional discussion of the content and educational objectives of courses on international environmental law, the presentation and comparison of established authorial approaches, and the exchange of teaching experience and specific methodological solutions.
