New note: The European Commission has decided that gas and nuclear activities can be considered as "transitional" and included in the general taxonomy regime
On February 2, 2022, the European Commission approved in principle a Complementary Climate Delegated Act including specific nuclear and gas energy activities in the list of economic activities covered by the EU taxonomy as transitional. The document establishes clear and strict criteria for the specific gas and nuclear activities to be included in the "green" classification. It is supposed to help accelerate the shift from solid or liquid fossil fuels, including coal, towards a climate-neutral future.
