Ekaterina Salugina-Sorokovaya spoke at SPIGF 2022

Ekaterina Salugina-Sorokovaya, General Director of International and Comparative Law Research Center, spoke at the practical session "Strategic Opportunities of the Russian Carbon Units Market" organized by Gazprombank within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.

In her speech, Ekaterina touched upon the issue of setting goals for carbon regulation: "In the context of climate policy, many states also set internal goals. For example, for the People's Republic of China, this is a reduction in health care costs, which are highly dependent on the state of the environment. In Russia, both at the state and corporate level, understanding and goal-setting are still being formed. We are at the beginning of the road, and we have yet to come to a balanced infrastructure, to which many states have been going for 10, 15, and even 20 years."
