Ekaterina Salugina-Sorokovaya participated in the EEF 2022

Ekaterina Salugina-Sorokovaya, the International and Comparative Law Research Center General Director, took part in four sessions of the Eastern Economic Forum.

Ekaterina spoke about ways to integrate the national carbon market into the infrastructure of key foreign countries and the features of their carbon regulation during the sessions Climate Agenda: New Opportunities in the New Reality, “Launch of Pilot Climate Projects in Real Estate as Part of the Sakhalin Experiment on Creating a Carbon Trading System”, about the Center’s mission and changing values in the context of climate change at the session “Your Money And/Or Your Life: The Lack of a Freedom of Choice and moderated the session Carbon Emission Trading in Russia: A Path from an Experiment to a Sustainable Development Strategy.

“At the moment, according to the current legislation, only Russian resident companies accredited by the Federal Accreditation Service may act as verification bodies. In order for climate projects to be really of interest to business, and business has a huge demand for this, admission of verification bodies from partner countries is an important measure worth considering,” Ekaterina mentioned as one of the ways to develop the Russian infrastructure.
