The scholar Mikael Arshakyan presents the results of his research
On 5 June 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m. (UTC+3), Mikael Arshakyan will present the results of his research. The event will be held in a hybrid format — in person in the ICLRC library (14, bldg. 3 Kadashevskaya Embankment) and online, in English.
Mikael is a participant of the Scholarship for Young International Law Researchers. He is working on a study “Legal Effect and Consequences of Armed Conflicts on International Investment Treaties”.
The research aims to explore the relationship between international investment treaties and the disruptions caused by armed conflicts. While these treaties are designed to provide protection and stability to investors, the outbreak of hostilities complicates their enforcement, raising questions about their ongoing applicability. This study will examine the legal status of international investment treaties during armed conflicts, analyzing how they are impacted and the extent to which they can continue to safeguard foreign investments during such turbulent times.
