Presentation of the research of the participants of the Investment Law and Arbitration Lab (webinar)

On 4 September 2025 at 2 pm (UTC+3), the International and Comparative Law Research Center will host a webinar to present the article “Third-Party Funding in Arbitration” authored by participants of the Investment Law and Arbitration Lab 2024/25. The presentation will be held in English.

The article examines regulatory approaches to third-party funding in international investment arbitration, as reflected in the draft documents of UNCITRAL Working Group III.

Authors Evgeniia Saveleva and Anton Zakharau analyse draft provisions 5(4), 9(3), and 12, which relate to disclosure obligations, allocation and security for costs, and compensation of party expenses. The article highlights the need for further refinement of these provisions to address risks and achieve a balance between party interests and the fundamental principles of arbitration.
