Ecumene 2022: Global Financial Forum

On September 28-30, on the threshold of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the UN Climate Change (COP27) in Egypt, the Global Financial Forum Ecumene was held in Moscow. 


Speakers discussed such questions as climate change and sustainable development of the cities, biodiversity and environmental economics, FinTech and blue finance, implementation of energy transition and carbon neutrality, as well as development of the Arctic region, perspectives of permanent education model and woman's role in management.

Ekaterina Salugina-Sorokovaya, the ICLRC General Director participated in the session “Sustainable Reporting in Russia”, where she spoke about latest improvements and actors, as well as global trends in the disclosure of non-financial information.

“Russia continues to fulfill its obligations within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, achieving goals of the Paris Agreement and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals until 2030. The Russian Federation, based on the principles of its ecological sovereignty, cannot stay away from the global ecological agenda, decarbonization, but the natural resource potential of our state must be taken into account accurately, calculated and monetized” says Viacheslav Fetisov, one of the Forum`s initiators and speakers, UN Goodwill Ambassador, Chair of All-Russian Society for Nature Conservation. 

Ecumene 2022 was supported by the UN, UN Convention on Biological Diversity, UNEP FI, the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the National Geographic Society, WWF, World Bank, the International and Comparative Law Research Center, and other reputable Russian and international organizations.
